Log
profiles & joinery styles
Profile styles include your choice of 8",
10" or 12" diameter
full round, or D-style logs with full log corners.
Swedish
cope and tongue & groove is available in all diameter
profiles.
Half-log
and the hand-hewn look log profiles are available in both
tongue & groove and Swedish cope.
Double
tongue & groove and Swedish cope systems are both designed
to provide a tight, permanent fit. All corners are saddle-notched,
increasing the structural integrity of the log wall system,
while maintaining the traditional aesthetic quality of a
finely crafted log home.

 Our
forests
Forests are truly remarkable natural resources. They provide
countless benefits for our lives—from clean water and air,
to medicines and paper products, fantastic recreational opportunities,
and yes, materials with which we can create homes for our families,
now and in the future.
Realizing all the benefits of our forests requires management,
based upon the principle of stewardship. This stewardship—the
wise use of a resource with proper regard for the rights of others—is
the best ways to preserve our forests for all people, through time.
This practice guides Hiawatha Log Homes. Because we want to make
sure that our raw material will always be available, all of the
timber we purchase is harvested under the guidelines of the Sustainable
Forestry Initiative. Hiawatha’s future is dependent upon our
forests, and we plan to be creating traditions for many years to
come!
Log beds
Hiawatha log beds are made from the very same timbers we
use to build our beautiful homes -- Norway Pine. Each bed is custom
built using traditional bed sizing. Choose either a complete bed
kit with log headboard, footboard, and log mattress frame, or a
log headboard only to complement your decor. Custom designs are
available.
 Whether
you desire a soft romantic look, or rustic appeal, a Hiawatha Log
Bed will be a perfect addition to accent every bedroom or loft in
your home. Each Hiawatha Log Bed or headboard is delivered to you
unassembled and ready for you to stain to match your home's interior
decor.
Hiawatha Log Beds are constructed with 8" diameter posts with
2" spindles and the frame is constructed with 4" stock.
